Getting started
What grades do you work with?
Kindergarten through 8th grade.
How do I get started?
Start with a free consultation. Reserve your spot online or call the center closest to you: Hialeah 786-329-3895 or Sweetwater 305-747-4404. We'll talk about what your child needs and which schedule fits.
How much does tutoring cost?
With our bundled packages, tutoring starts at $25 an hour. Your exact price depends on the program and how many days a week your child attends. Call either center and we'll find the option that fits your family. Families who qualify can also use a Step Up For Students scholarship.

Programs
What subjects do you help with?
Reading (phonics, fluency and comprehension), math, writing and homework support, including online school programs like iReady, IXL, Lexia, Reading Plus and Imagine Math. See our reading tutoring page for details.
Do you help students prepare for the FAST and STAR tests?
Yes. We prepare students for FAST and STAR throughout the school year, not just in the weeks before the test.
Is tutoring one-on-one or in groups?
Both. Students work one-on-one or in small groups with the same tutors week after week, so we get to know how your child learns.
Do you offer enrichment classes?
Yes, at our Hialeah center: STEM, robotics, visual arts, music theory, dance, taekwondo and cooking. Our Sweetwater center focuses on academic tutoring.
About our tutors
Are your tutors bilingual?
Yes. Our team speaks English and Spanish. Your child's lessons follow their school work in English, and we can talk with you about their progress in Spanish or English, whichever you prefer.
Do you work with children who have learning differences?
Yes. Our team includes certified teachers, our tutors are trained to work with learning differences, and we have worked with hundreds of children with learning differences.
Does my child have to attend a certain school?
No. We work with students from public, charter and private schools in Miami-Dade, and with homeschooled students.
Payments and policies
Do you accept Step Up For Students scholarships?
Yes. Open Mind is an approved Step Up For Students provider. See funding and scholarships.
What happens if my child misses a session?
If you have already been charged and your child misses a session, the charge becomes a credit that must be used within two weeks.
How do I withdraw my child?
Let us know before your next billing date. If we aren't notified before billing, no credit is issued.
